Frequently asked questions

How does checking in work?

Open DraftPocket and tap I’m here. That tells us you’re okay and starts your next check-in period. We remind you before a check-in is due. If you miss it, we contact the trusted people you chose, as your safety plan says.

Who are trusted people, and what do they receive?

Trusted people are the people you add in the app. If you miss your check-ins, we let them know by push notification, SMS or email, with your name and how to reach you. They never see your messages unless a message is addressed to them and released.

When are my messages released?

Only when your release settings say so. If you keep missing check-ins after your trusted people were alerted, and you haven’t responded, your saved messages are released to the person each one is for. You can turn automatic release off, or change how long we wait, in Settings. As long as you check in, nothing is released.

Someone left me a message. How do I open it?

You will receive an email. Open it in the DraftPocket app by signing in with the email address the message was sent to. If the sender added your phone number, you can also open it in your browser with a code we send to your phone. The link is private, please don’t forward it.

Can I pause check-ins, for example on holiday?

Yes. You can pause check-ins for a set period, and set quiet hours for reminders, in Settings.

What is auto check-in?

Auto check-in checks you in when you arrive at places you save, such as home or work. It is optional and needs location permission. Your places and location stay on your phone. We only receive that you checked in and when.

I’m not receiving reminders or notifications.

Check that notifications for DraftPocket are allowed in your phone’s settings, and that you are not inside your quiet hours. Signing out and back in also refreshes your device’s notification token.

Subscriptions and purchases

Manage or cancel a subscription

Deleting your account or the app does not cancel a subscription. Please cancel it in your store account so you aren’t charged again.

Restore a purchase

Sign in with the same account you used before, then open the plan screen in the app. Your plan is restored from your App Store or Google Play purchase.

Refunds

Purchases are handled by Apple and Google. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com (App Store) or through Google Play (Google Play). We can’t issue refunds directly.

Your account and data

Delete your account

Deleting your account removes your profile, check-ins, trusted people, messages, photos and videos. Messages that were already released to someone stay with that person.

Privacy

Read how we collect and use your information in our Privacy Policy.
